They have developed expertise in their specialist fields working across all the main trading centres and for some of the world’s leading buy-side and sell-side organisations.
Matteo Legler, Executive Managing Director Wealth and Asset Management , has over 15 years of business development experience in a number of different financial services jurisdictions. During his career, Matteo has focused on asset and wealth management across a range of structured products, developing investment policies, undertaking due diligence and fund management. He has also been involved with a number of private equity investments and private placements, including the sourcing and raising of funds.
Matteo is Swiss and holds a BA in Economics and Social Sciences from Geneva University, with a major in Corporate Management and Finance.
Nael has worked as a trader and chief broker across Europe and the Middle East. Educated at Sagesse University in Beirut, Lebanon, he started work as a FX and stock trader in Geneva at EFXFX SA, covering commodities, equities and FX. He then moved to Abu Dhabi as the Chief Broker at Amwal International Financial Brokerage LLC, helping to launch the company and managing the portfolios of High Net-Worth clients.
He was one of the first people to join ADSS Group and is a certified broker with both the ADSM and the DFM.
Mathieu Ghanem was one of ADSS Group's first employees, playing an integral role in structuring the firm’s operations. Appointed as Managing Director – Global Head of Sales, Mathieu is leading the firm’s global institutional and retail sales operations covering UAE, Asia and London. Mr. Ghanem is also Head of Cross Asset Sales, where he is responsible for driving strategic integration between the firm’s brokerage, global investment banking and asset management operations.
He also led the development of the organization in Asia as Head of Sales and Deputy Managing Director of the Hong Kong & Singapore offices, covering ADSS Group's institutional brokerage, asset management, corporate and family offices clients. A business development specialist and expert in technology across forex, bullion and other e-traded products and asset classes, Mr. Ghanem began his career as a market analyst and trader working in the hedge fund based out of Geneva and Abu Dhabi.
Dr Ryan Lemand is the Managing Director-Head of Wealth & Asset Management at ADSS Group.
Previously, Dr Lemand was the Senior Advisor and Head of Risk Management at the Emirates Securities & Commodities Authority. He also held roles as a Senior Portfolio Manager at Fortis Investments in London and Paris, as well as teaching financial econometrics courses at the Paris II-Assas University and Paris IX-Dauphine University.
Dr Lemand holds a PhD (summa cum laude) in Financial Econometrics from the École Normale Supérieure, France, and is the author of two books on financial contagion, as well as a number of research articles on financial correlation.
Adam Clayton joined ADSS Group in February 2017 as Managing Director- Head of Investment Banking, based at the company headquarters in Abu Dhabi.
Before joining ADSS Group, Adam was Managing Director and Co-Head of securities sales for Middle East & North Africa at Goldman Sachs International, where he built and ran a multi-market team covering financial institutions, Corporates and government institutions for all fixed income, currency, commodities and equity products across the region.
Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, he worked as Managing Director and Head of Credit Structuring for Europe, Middle East & Africa at Merrill Lynch, based in London. Over the course of his career, Adam has held senior roles in credit derivatives structuring and emerging markets structured finance at Citibank N.A. in London, Honk Kong, and Jakarta.
Adam received his Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Management from the University of Cambridge.
Oliver Hallsworth is Managing Director- Legal & Compliance, leading the firm’s global legal activities and policies, as well as regulatory affairs, compliance and brand protection.
Prior to joining ADSS Group, Oliver served as General Legal Counsel at Al Khalij Commercial Bank, a Qatar headquartered commercial bank, where he led the incorporation of its new investment banking entity in the Dubai International Financial Centre and directed the legal and regulatory review and engagement strategy for the establishment of the bank’s debut bond issuance.
Oliver is a seasoned barrister with substantial experience in legal and regulatory issues across a number of international jurisdictions including Jersey, Luxembourg, Ireland, United Kingdom, the European Union, Dubai and Qatar. Prior to moving to the GCC, Oliver was based in Jersey, Channel Islands with UBS AG, where he was Executive Director, Head of Legal & Compliance.
Oliver began his career in London first with Citibank and then with Lehman Brothers, working as an in-house lawyer specialized in equity finance, derivatives and transaction management. Most recently, Oliver was recognized as one of the Middle East’s Top 100 Corporate Counsel in the Legal 500 GC Powerlist.
Oliver received a Bachelor (Honours) in History from King’s College, University of London, a postgraduate diploma in Law from the University of Sussex and was Called to the Bar by Lincoln’s Inn and holds a current practicing certificate.
Mr Webb brings over 15 years of senior management, trading and risk management expertise in the FX/CFD institutional and brokerage sector to his current role as Acting CEO at ADSS Group London Limited.
Since joining ADSS Group as Senior Director & Chief Dealer in 2012, Mr Webb has been a key contributor to the growth of the global business, working across Asia and Europe to develop the firm’s front office function.
Mr Webb joined ADSS Group from Worldspreads Group Plc, where he served as Head of Market Risk & Trading, leading the company’s risk management and revenue generation strategy. Prior to this, Mr Webb spent nearly ten years at UK-based financial derivatives dealer CMC Markets where he began his career on the trading desk, and ending his tenure at the firm as Group Head of Trading and a member of the firm’s Executive Board.
Mr Webb graduated from the University of Hertfordshire with a Bachelor of Science in Business and Law.
Francis is a forex, derivatives and risk management expert with more than 15 years of experience in international finance, focused on Asian markets. Prior to joining ADSS Group, he served as Managing Director and Regional Head for Greater China at Saxo Bank, and as Managing Director for FXCM Asia. Francis is widely recognized as the pioneer for the forex business in Asia, having set the industry standard for the regional institutional and retail trading business.
Francis is a published academic, author and commentator on foreign exchange markets, and remains a guest lecturer at the Department of Economic at Fu Jen Catholic University, his alma mater. He completed his post-graduate studies in Visual Communication at the Pratt Institute in New York, and earned his MBA, masters of business administration from Lubin Business School at Pace University. Since 2009, Francis has been a PhD candidate at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.
Mr Velay has worked as a business analyst and CTO for both the vendor and bank sides of the financial services industry for over 23 years. He has delivered a number of projects across a range of OTC products which have included the management of compliance and risk exposure. These projects have included front, middle and back office solutions, with a focus on forex. He is known for his ability to deliver multi-market projects on time and within budget. He joins ADSS Group from FiniQ in Zurich after having previously worked for HSBC (Hong Kong), OCBC Bank (Singapore) and Standard Chartered (Singapore). Mr Velay started working for ADSS Group in April 2016 and was promoted to the role of CTO in February 2017.
He is a graduate from ESIEA Engineering school and holds a diploma equivalent to a Masters degree in Computer Science.
